Virginia Spreadbury Nelson, 86

Virginia Spreadbury Nelson, age 86, passed away at the home of her daughter in Ruidoso, NM on 12/21/2008. She was born in Whitefield, NH in 1922. She has lived in Ruidoso since 1996 and is affectionately known as "Grammy" by many who have known and loved her. She was a homemaker and LPN. She is survived by brothers, Lawrence Spreadbury and Sidney Spreadbury Jr. of NH; a sister, Beverly Silva of El Paso, TX; a daughter, Linda Parks of Ruidoso, NM; a son, Harry Nelson Jr. and wife Nancy of Richmond, IN; grandsons Mike Lyon and wife Blanche and children, Adam and Dustin of Ruidoso, NM; Kenny Lyon and wife Shelee of Ramona, CA; Richard Nelson and wife Carrie and children, Kate, Meg and Elizabeth of Littleton, CO; granddaughters, Lisa Lyon and Mike Harding and children Chris and fiancé Ashley and her daughter Alexis and Samantha and fiancé James of Rio Rancho, NM; Carolyn Nelson Crowe and husband Kevin and children, Kenzie and Laila of Bowling Green, KY. Other grandchildren close in her heart are Sarah, Rob, Ryan and Kiersten and husband Denny and children, Tuscan and Rowan. She also has several nieces and nephews.

There will be no memorial services. Her remains will be buried in a family plot in Franconia, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Ruidoso Home Care and Hospice or to the Ruidoso Animal Shelter and Clinic in Ruidoso, NM. "Momma", "Grammy", "Sister" and "Aunt" will always
