Spencer Jefferson (Troy) Boykin, 100
Spencer Jefferson (Troy) Boykin, 100, passed away on July 8, 2011 in Alamogordo. He was born June 14, 1911 in Star, Texas to William Jefferson and Katie Estelle (Arnold) Boykin.
He raised his family in Cloudcroft and ranched in T or C for 35 years retiring in Alamogordo.
Survivors include his sister, Jessie Lois Lee of Elfrida, AZ, 2 daughters, Bobbie May of La Luz and Vergie McNew and husband Bill of Alamogordo; 6 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; stepdaughter, Mary Bates of Caballo, NM and stepson, Riley Crofford of Tahlequah, OK.
He was preceded in death by 3 wives, Willie Mae McBrayer, Helen Cave and Venna Crofford; 3 brothers, Ogle, Gerald and RL; 1 sister, Val Marie Barnes; 2 daughters, Troylene Boykin, and Ruth Drake and a grandson, Roy May.
A graveside service at Monte Vista Cemetery is pending with Reverend Billy Tucker officiating.
The Boykin family has entrusted their loved one to the care of PCS to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
