Russell Lance Whitehead

Russell Whitehead, 65, passed away on October 4, 2025 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He was born on August 14, 1960 in Atwood, Kansas to Harilee and Edna (Stevens) Whitehead. 

Russell was an excellent welder and did oil field welding.  He also did home construction and was an artist.

Survivors include his sister, Sharon Whitehead Gilmore of Tularosa, NM; daughter, Alicia Whitehead of Amarillo, TX; granddaughter, Bailee Talamaste; brother, Phillip Whitehead; three nephews, Taylor  Whitehead, Jason Walker, and Brandon Lee; niece, Lisa Addleman; 4 grandnieces; and 2 grandnephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Harilee Whitehead, and mother, Edna Jo Whitehead.

The memorial service for Russell Whitehead will be held on November 8, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Race Track Chapel located at 26225 U.S. 70 Ruidoso Downs, NM 88346.
