Robert Scott Fitts

Robert Scott Fitts "Bob", born in Clovis, New Mexico on December 23, 1939, was received into the arms of his Lord June 3, 2015.

Bob was 75 years old and is survived by his wife of 19 years, Sandra J. Fitts "Sandy" and by his children, Jacquelyn Delgado (Edmond Talbott), Robert Fitts Jr, Marie Fitts (Carol Muhs), David Fitts (Dana Dolcini) and stepson Gregory Scott Abney, (Irene). He leaves behind nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Bob is also survived by his father William Fitts, and brothers Dr. William Fitts Jr (Sharon), Ronald Fitts (Laurel), Lynne "Jack" Judah (Linda) and Daphna Gonzales.

Bob was predeceased by his wife of 30 years Sophie "Nena" Fitts, mother Louise "Sis" Fitts, and grandson Justin Delgado.

Bob grew up in Tularosa, NM and graduated from Tularosa High School in 1957. He then served a 4-year tour of duty in the US Coast Guard, which took him from California to Alaska, New Orleans, and eventually back to California.

After he married and raised a family in California, with stops in New Mexico, Texas, and Florida, Bob settled back in New Mexico in 1993, and reunited with his high school sweetheart Sandy, who he married in 1995.

Bob loved family and friends, and enjoyed keeping up with the "goings-on" of his family. He derived much pride and satisfaction from their accomplishments.

Bob's interests included reading, good food, good friends and an occasional game of chance.

A life-long faith in Jesus Christ gave him comfort throughout his years. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that friends and family send donations to "Paralyzed Veterans of America"

The Fitts family has entrusted their loved one to the care of PCS Direct Cremation Service to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
