Rito M Sandoval

Rito M. Sandoval, 82, was called home on March 29, 2014.

Rito was born Sept. 13, 1931, in Madrid, N.M., to Homobono Mendoza and Clara Sandoval.

Rito was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was married to the love of his life Gloria Sandoval for 50 years. Together they had three daughters, Maria Farrington, Margarita/Ita Carey and Carmelita Guinn. He took great pride in being a family man.

During his life he accomplished many things and was a mentor to everybody who knew him. In 1956, he obtained a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. During his time in college he served in the Air Force R.O.T.C program before joining the military after graduation. He proudly served in both the United States Army and Air Force. He also worked for Dynalectron for 36 years before retiring.

After retiring, Rito loved traveling with his wife in a RV across country. He also loved fishing, camping, reading, gardening and dancing.

Rito was preceded in death by his mother, father and one sister. He is survived by his wife Gloria, his three daughters Maria and Dean Farrington; Ita and Kevin Carey; and Carmelita and JR Guinn. He is also survived by his grandchildren Simonne and Ryan Carey, Anthony and Dominick Farrington, Lucinda and Miranda Guinn and his great grandson Matthew.

The Sandoval family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Alamo Funeral Home.
