Nancy Louise Belknap

Nancy Louise Belknap, 90, entered eternal rest December 4th at her son's home in La Luz Canyon where she spent her last year surrounded by family. She was born September 5th, 1924 in High Point, North Carolina to Joseph and Bonnie Cole.

Nancy graduated early and earned her bachelor's degree in History and English at the age of 17. She married the love of her life, Walter Belknap, on Sept 29th, 1945. Nancy taught school in Sacramento and LA and raised two children, Carol A. Belknap and Dennis K. Belknap. Walter and Nancy retired here in Alamogordo in 1975 to be close to their son.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Carol and husband Walter. She is survived by her son Dennis and his wife, Bonnie (Tharp), four grandsons, Nathan Tharp (Shawndra), David Belknap (Kim), Jonathan Belknap, Matthew Belknap (Brianna), four great grandchildren, Julian Martinez, Jacob and Emma Tharp, and Owen Belknap. Another great grandson, Allen Walter Belknap is expected in March.

Cremation has taken place under the care of PCS Direct Cremation Services. Private family services are scheduled.
