Myrna L. Sanders (Monroe, Fick), age 84, of Alamogordo was called to heaven on November 9, 2024.  Born Myrna L. Monroe on June 23, 1940, in Hastings, Nebraska.  When she was very young, the family moved to Colorado where she spent the majority of her life until she moved to New Mexico in September 2015.  She graduated from Denver North High School in 1958.  

Myrna was preceded in death by her father, Charles Burdett Monroe, her mother, Hazel Marie Valentine, and her brother, Lary Monroe.  She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ted and her second husband, Collins.

Myrna enjoyed a varied career throughout her life and was passionate about the interior design of every home that she owned and made her gardens look like the pages out of a magazine.  She had a green thumb that rivaled many.  She also enjoyed the theater, baking, concerts, movies, traveling when she was able, getting together with friends, and was an avid reader.  But more than anything, she enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Her children and grandchildren were the greatest joys of her life.

Myrna is survived by her two daughters, Lori Dalpes (Grant) and Shelley DeAngelis-Eggert, both of Alamogordo, NM; her three granddaughters, Kelli (Nick) of Newport Beach, CA, Kacey of Malibu, CA and Avery of Alamogordo, NM; and her three great grandchildren, Taylor, Nicholas and Emersyn of Newport Beach, CA.  She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Barbara Fox of Westminster, CO and Karen (Sue) Harvey of Loveland, CO; as well as her sister-in-law, Bertha Yacovetta of Denver, CO and many nieces and nephews, all of whom were dearly loved as well.
