Mary M. Gallegos-Smith, 60

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother
Mary M. Gallegos-Smith passed away Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008. She was a lifelong resident of Alamogordo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben and Senovia Gallegos; one sister, Cristine Caldwell; brother Salmon Gallegos; one son, Larry Smith; and two grandsons.
She is survived by one brother, Ruben Gallegos, of Arizona; sisters Paula Edgar and Virginia Gallegos, of Alamogordo, and Demecia Roybal, of Santa Fe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her children: Stella Gallegos, granddaughter and two great-grandchildren, of Alamogordo; Virginia (Twiggy) and James Abshire and five grandchildren, of Colorado; son Thomas Smith, of Alamogordo; Dawn and Juan Rodriguez and four grandchildren, of Alamogordo; Twila and Reynerio Morales and two grandchildren, of California.
She was loved by all who knew her. She was a generous person who was always willing to lend a hand, and she will be remembered for her strength and loving character. She was well respected and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at 1859 Indian Wells Road from 1:00 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008.
