Lynn M. Rogers, 89
Lynn M. Rogers, 89 of Tularosa, was gently called home by his Lord on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at his home, after a short bought with cancer.
He was born November 23, 1920 in Porterville, CA, to Herbert Luther and Sara Bell (Burkes) Rogers. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II having served in the South Pacific where he was a Signalman on the Flag Ship, U.S.S. Burleigh. He later worked with civilian contractors at Cape Canaveral, Holloman AFB, Asia and the Middle East. He traveled around the world eleven times.
He is survived by his wife of forty years, Pratuang (Nui) Rogers of the family home. He was blessed with children from three families, Linda Sperring and Shirley Walls; Cindy Duncan, Mark Rogers and Tina Walker; and Noom Rogers and Jaki Sanchez; twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren and six great, great grandchildren. Also survived by three brothers, Herb Rogers, Milton Rogers and Melvin Rogers.
He was a strong and gentle Christian with deep convictions. A caring, dedicated husband, a loving and nurturing father and grandfather. He loved life and had a great sense of adventure. He made friends wherever he went and knew no enemies. As the family patriarch, a blessing to us all and an amazing example who will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by one son, Bill Rogers, one brother, Bruce Rogers and two sisters, Delphine Myren and Marj Gordon.
Private memorial services will be conducted at a future date.
Direct Cremation has taken place under the care of PCS Direct Cremation Services.
