Luis Ramires Garcia, 88, passed away peacefully in Alamogordo on Nov. 17, 2014, surrounded by his family. Born in 1926 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, he became a longtime resident of Alamogordo where he lived for 60 years. Luis was a hard worker and enjoyed working as a tailor at his business Alterations by Luis until his retirement earlier this year.
He is preceded in death by ex-wife, Maria P. Garcia, children, Frank Garcia, Carmen Garcia, Ernest Garcia, Luis Garcia Jr. and grandson, Philip Garcia.
Luis is survived by his two children, Isabel Scruggs and husband David, of San Antonio, TX, and Eddie Garcia and wife Marcy of Woodward, OK; grandchildren, Jessica Harp, Angela Ludvicek, Matt and Miranda Scruggs; several great-great grandchildren and many family members residing in Mexico.
He will be sorely missed by all of his family and friends. At Luis' request, no memorial services will be held as he would like to be remembered in life rather than in death.
