Fun Loving Lady - will be missed
Luella Marie (Butch) Blaylock, 66 passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2007 at her home in La Luz. She was born on December 26, 1940 in Great Falls, Montana to Robert and Dorothy (Allum) Klassen.
Luella moved to Alamogordo in the 60's, after a few stops with Boeing Aircraft, with her kids' dad, Larry Nemec, now deceased. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, and listened to Steve on the radio, during her illness, as not to get an infection going to church service.
She was an avid bowler serving as Past President of our local Women's Bowling Association (3 terms), Past Secretary of an all-women's scratch league, Past President of local Lady Keglers, coached a junior league for a number of years and ran a Scholarship tournament for graduating seniors locally (Tilford Stringer Scholarship) for 29 years. Butch loved the game of 10 - pins; adults and kids' as well. She loved sports in general. She exercised in pool therapy at NMSVI and enjoyed walking around village in La Luz. She was a very active person. Butch loved the dances at senior center, great country music and good people. She loved to dance and polish JB's belt-buckle! She always had a smile and was a very positive soul who will be missed.
Butch is survived by her husband, friend and lover, J.B.; her children, Debbi Courtright of Plymouth, Indiana, Dennis Nemec and wife, Justine of Glendale, Arizona, and Dana Jorgensen and husband, Karl of Las Cruces; step-son Freddie Blaylock and wife, Lois of Florida; grandchildren, Castina, Daphne, Tanya, Joel, Logan, Kyra and Dylan; Freddie's children, Freddy Jr., Zack, Harleigh and Devin; step children, Tammie and Mitch; one sister Teddie Jean and husband, Danny Anderson; one brother Charles Klassen, both in Great Falls, MT; one great grandchild, Joseph Thompson and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her sister, Roberta, three aunts and a nephew.
There are no services scheduled.
