Larry Hall Obituary

Larry Byron Hall passed from this life on October 9, 2023, in Alamogordo, New Mexico.  Larry was due to turn 77 on October 12, 2023.  Larry lived in Alamogordo the last twenty years and truly loved the location and the weather.

Larry was born in Dayton, Ohio and was raised in Fairborn, Ohio graduating from Fairborn High School in 1964.  He spent his high school years on the debate team and working as a sports trainer for the various athletic programs.  After graduation, he received his AA from Miami Jacobs CC in accounting.  

Larry enlisted in the Army in 1966 and spent the next five years serving our county all over the world.  Larry served as a communication specialist in far off places like Ethiopia and Iceland.  Larry served the United States Army in a very proud American way.

Larry went on in his civilian life to work for the auditor of the State of Ohio and later with the Federal Reserve Bank in San Francisco.  After 4 years of civilian employment, he re-enlisted in the US Navy where he spent the next 16 years of his life.  He worked his way up the ranks to achieve Master Chief for which he was extremely proud.  

Larry retired after his last tour with the Navy and spent his life traveling, smoking his pipe and enjoying life in general.  

Larry was proceeded in death by his loving wife of many years, Collen.  

Larry is survived by two brothers, Donald of Fairborn, Ohio and Barry of Keller, Texas.  Larry is additionally survived by his sister-in-law, Susan of Keller, Texas; niece, Corryn Hall-Gorski (Stephen) of Stafford, Virginia; nephew, Jason (Robyn) of Frisco, Texas; niece, Adriene Henning (Robert) of Frisco, Texas; niece Alyse Hall of Irving, Texas. Larry also has 4 grandnieces and nephews, Teddy and Arbor Henning, and Parker and Oliva Hall.

Larry’s remains will be buried in the Dayton National Cemetery where his wife is currently laid to rest.  A graveside service will take place at the Dayton National Cemetery at a future date. 

The Hall family has entrusted their loved one to the care of PCS Direct Cremation Service to direct the cremation.
