LAHN D. SMITH
The Lord called Lahn peacefully away on November 22, 2009. He was born on March 19, 1950 in Albuquerque to Cecil L. and Karyl M. Smith.
A Vietman Veteran, Lahn served in the U.S. Army and received a Purple Heart for injuries sustained during the war. He received an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Army in 1971.
Lahn had a tremendous talent as an artist and in working with electronics. In recent years, he had restored a number of antique radios for customers and several he had collected or received from family and friends. A detailed craftsman, Lahn showed a passion in his art and radio restorations.
Preceding Lahn in death were his parents, Cecil and Karyl Smith and brother, Blaen Smith. Survivors included his sister, Lisa Braun of Portland, Oregon; his brother, Karl Gurr of Denver and his buddy - Nub the cat.
The family wishes to thank neighbors and friends who visited Lahn during his illness, graciously taking personal time to bring meals, tend to him and provide companionship.
Per Lahn's wishes, a family memorial has been held. In lieu of flowers, please support our veterans by donating to the Vietnam Veterans program in your area.
