Joyce Annie Henley, devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and a woman, known for her tireless work ethic and infectious sense of humor, passed away unexpectedly on January 25, 2025. Her vibrant personality and unwavering commitment to her family left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Joyce was a cheerful, loving, and incredibly unselfish person. She always put others before herself and found joy in the smallest things, often getting a kick out of life’s simplest moments. Her laughter was contagious, and her kindness knew no bounds.

Joyce is survived by her beloved daughters, Sabrina Eden Scarber, Samantha Amber Scarber, and Shirley LeAnn Scarber, whose lives were enriched by her boundless love and support. She was also a devoted grandmother to three, cherishing every moment with her grandsons, Kyler Drake Oliveras, Ryan Scarber-Summerland, and Dionicio Scarber-Summerland.

In addition to her children and grandchildren, Joyce is survived by her two sisters, Nancy Brown of Dalhart, Texas, and Patsy Parsons of Tularosa, New Mexico as well as her brother, Will Henley of Dalhart, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Henry Henley; her mother, Helen K. Henley Hall; her brother, Clarence “Bud” Henley; and her devoted life partner, Bryan Scarber.

Joyce worked at the Tularosa Travel Center for 16 years where she was well-loved by her customers and known for her warm personality and strong work ethic.

Arrangements for cremation are being handled by PCS Professional Crematory Services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help cover the expenses of her cremation. Any donations would be greatly appreciated by the family and can be directed to Joyce's sister, Patsi.
