Josephine Leehan Obituary
JOSEPHNE '"JO" LEEHAN, 73
"A LOVELY ENGLISH ROSE HAS CLOSED HER PETALS, BUT WILL FOREVER BLOOM IN OUR HEARTS."
Jo Leehan passed away at the family home on October 23, 2009. Jo was born October 5, 1936 at Woodgreen, England, to Victor and Josephine Sutton, both now deceased.
She met William "Bill" Leehan at RAF Welford, England, while working at the USAF base. Jo and Bill were married at Bracknell, England on January 10, 1959. The family came to Holloman AFB in 1973.
Jo is survived by Bill, their children, Michael Leehan of Kansas and Terry Geary and husband Ron of Alamogordo. Jo has a surviving sister, Ann Pilsworth and husband Malcolm of Havant, England. Her brother Vic passed away last January in England.
Her grandchildren are Kalie and Kristen Geary of Alamogordo, Melissa and Mike Leehan of Arcadia Florida and Jessica Bishop and great granddaughter Courtney of Peducah, Kentucky.
In addition to supporting Bill's military and civilian careers, Jo was an avid gardener, crafter and seamstress. Her roses were her pride and joy, as well as her numerous house plants. Jo was also an excellent cake decorator, creating cakes for many birthdays in the family. Her crowning achievement was the multi-tiered wedding cakes for Terry and Ron.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service is being planned at Bethel Baptist Church, the date and time to be announced.
The family requests that donations be made in Jo's name to Alzheimer's, American Cancer Society or any organization of your choice in lieu of floral arrangements. Thank you for your prayers.
Direct Cremation was under the care of PCS Direct Cremation Services.
