Helen Muriel Steele, 71
Beloved of many

Helen Muriel Steele, 71, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at her daughter's home in Alamogordo, New Mexico. She was born on Friday, January 12, 1940 in Richmond, California to Earl Leonard and Lois Muriel (Bond) Fitch.

Helen's childhood was spent in Richmond where was born. Most of her adult life was spent in Pleasant Hill, Concord and Woodland Connecticut. She worked in administration for Contra Costa County. She was a lifetime member of the Berkeley Water Ski Club and a long time board member of Parents Without Partners (PWP). She loved her soap operas and always had her favorite candy, chocolate close by. She had over 150 friends throughout her life and never forgot a birthday, anniversary or any other important day.

She is survived by her son, Michael Steel of Kissimmee, FL; daughter, Lori Steel of Alamogordo and her sister, Roberta Shelton of Springfield, OR; grandchildren, Daniel Steele and wife Larissa of Kissimmee, FL, Kyle Hahn of Cocoa Beach, FL, Candice Stephens and husband Eric of San Antonio, TX; great grandchildren, Braden and Kenzie and nephews, James and Allen and niece, Donna.

Helen will be missed by all who knew her.
