Graciela Armendariz

Graciela Armendariz unexpectedly passed on October 23, 2022, at the age of 80, at the GCRMC. She was born on September 14, 1942.

Above all else, her faith as a devoted Jehovah’s Witness led Graciela to be a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all that ever met her.  Graciela‘s professional commitment allowed her to retire from the New Mexico State University-Alamogordo branch.  Caring for and nurturing her family was the focus and highlight of her life. Graciela was very fond of singing and dancing.  She loved to cook for and have coffee with her friends and family. Her warm and inviting spirit, as well as contagious smile, had a way of making everyone feel like family. She will always be remembered for the way her face lit up when loved ones walked through the door to see her and in return, all their faces lit up as well.   She could light up any room with just her smile, her words and her faith.  She will always radiate love and kindness through all who ever met her. 

Graciela was preceded in death by her husband, Alfredo Armendariz; her parents, Alberto and Genoveva Aguirre; her brother, Felipe Aguirre; and her sister, Estela Nora.  

Graciela is survived by her children, Elsa and Dean Giest, Joel and Cindy Armendariz, Efraim Armendariz, Marcos and Shawna Armendariz, Sonia and Danny Hodgkinson; her grandkids, Joel, Andrew, Steven, Jonah, Christina, Sarah, Weston, Dakota, Bryson, Zachary, Courtney, Rachel; 11 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. 

A gathering will take place at her home, 2090 Calle del Sol, on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 2:00 pm for friends and family.

The Armendariz family has entrusted their loved one to the care of PCS Direct Cremation Service to direct cremation.
