Gene Nygaard, 73, of Alamogordo, passed away, Monday, March 24, 2008 in Alamogordo.
Mr. Nygaard was born July 19, 1934 in Brainerd, MN to Leif I. and Gladys Reuter Nygaard. He graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree from Bemidji State University in Bemidji, MN. He married Carol J. Cargert , August 20, 1971 in Clear Lake, SD. He was a computer programmer and operations supervisor for General Mills, Inc. for twenty-three years. After retirement, they moved to Alamogordo in 2002 where he was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Airie 4101 and Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 2016.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Leif Nygaard.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Nygaard of the family home; two sons, Leif Nygaard of San Francisco, CA and Kurt Nygaard of Kennewick, WA; a mother-in-law; four brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 - 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge.
Direct Cremation will take place under the care of PCS Direct Cremation Services.
