Forrest L. Blayney Obituary

Family and friends are mourning the passing of Forrest L. Blayney, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and patriot, who went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 11, 2014. He was born in Washington, PA to Oren A. Blayney and Ivey Woods Blayney. He was the youngest of seven children.

He proudly served in the Unites States Air Force for 21 years and retired at Holloman AFB in 1991. He started his Air Force career in security police as a K-9 handler in Guam. He became a Chief Motorcycle Instructor for the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and ran the motorcycle program at Holloman AFB for many years. He was a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association. Forrest worked part-time for Honda and Yamaha, he taught first time offender DWI classes for the State of New Mexico for many years, and was the manager of Nick's Quick Pick for 17 years.

Survivors include his loving wife, Donna of the family home; daughters, Tarrah of Alamogordo and Lisa Morgan of Alaska; son, Steven of North Carolina; grandchildren, Morgan, Scott, Amber, Brianna, Austin, Samantha and Chelsey; great-grandchildren, Devan and Leighton; sister, Barb of PA; brothers, Bill and Sam of TX and Henry of NC; mother-in-law, Lucille Riley; sister-in-law, Billie Jean Watts; nephew, Johnny Watts (Beth) and great-nephew, John Riley Watts of SC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Nancy Blayney and Mary Katherine Shotwell, and brother-in-law, Ray Watts.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Eternity Baptist Church on 25th Street in Alamogordo with Chaplain Chuck Moon officiating.

The family would like to thank Alamogordo Home Care and Hospice for the loving care they gave Forrest and his family. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Alamogordo Home Care and Hospice, 1859 Indian Wells Road, Alamogordo, NM 88310.

The Blayney family has entrusted their loved one to the care of PCS Direct Cremation Service to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
