Eugene Edward Heckman, 80 passed away on July 2, 2011 at his home in Boles Acres. He was born in Braddock, Pennsylvania on January 16, 1931 to William J. and Anna (Much) Heckman.
He met and later married the love of his life, Maria Atencio in May of 1958 in Aurora, Colorado. Eugene retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Tech Sergeant in 1978 after 20 years of service. He was a fun loving guy who loved his family, Sunday dinners and hanging out on the porch. He will truly be missed.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Maria Heckman of the family home; son, Eric Heckman and wife Debbie of Boles Acres; three grandchildren, Erika Ellington and husband Dal of Nashville, Tennessee, Curtis Heckman and wife Amanda of Bloomfield, New Mexico and Samantha Cruz of Alamogordo; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
