Carolyn Jean Merrill

Carolyn Merrill, 64

Carolyn lost her battle with cancer on Sunday, September 18th, 2011. She was born in Levelland, TX and graduated from Lubbock High School in 1965. She married Ronnie Merrill in 1966. Carolyn & Ronnie have owned and operated the La Luz Market since 1976.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Ronnie; daughters, Sandi Nickerson and husband Frank of Tularosa and Tondi Hall and husband Jerry of Tennesee; grandchildren Jennifer Foor and husband Chris of Alamogordo and Nikki Salas of Alamogordo; Shannon Maislin and husband Joby, Jonathon and Tessa Hall all of Tennesee; great grandchildren Seth and Tyler Foor of Alamogordo.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in Carolyn's name to Alamogordo Cancer Resource Center, 1212 E 9th St. Suite E, Alamogordo, NM 88310. Carolyn's autistic great grandson has benefited greatly from services offered by Zia Therapy Center and we would like to also encourage donations in her name to Zia Therapy Center, 900 1st St., Alamogordo, NM 88310.
A day of celebration for the life of Carolyn will be held Sunday, October 9th, 2011 at the Nostalgia Club House at the Spruce Cabins in Cloudcroft, NM. Family and friends may visit between noon and 5pm.
