Beatrice Marie Martinez, 77, passed away peacefully at home on June 15, 2024 in Tularosa, New Mexico. She was born on August 5, 1946 in Calexico, California to Albert and Mary Artiaga.

A beloved resident of Tularosa, NM, she was known for her kind but stern, loving nature; deeply cherished by all who knew her. Beatrice loved traveling, the outdoors, sacred ceremonies, pow wows, as well as visiting family and friends all over the US. Beatrice lived many years in California and raised her sons, but decided to move back home to New Mexico in 2006. She enjoyed music, reading, and watching movies. Beatrice was an empathetic person who loved her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. Everyone who knew her will miss her. She was a person who never failed at bringing a light into the lives of those she met and will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

Survivors include sons Carlos Isquierdo of Sacramento, CA, Felix Eugene Martinez of Chaparral, NM; 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Helen Artiaga; father, Albert Marrufo Artiaga; and son, Julian Angel Isquierdo Jr.

The Martinez family has entrusted their loved one to the care of PCS Direct Cremation Service.
