Agnes Williams Obituary

Agnes ‘Mickey' Williams, 86, of Alamogordo, passed into eternal rest on April 19, 2011.

Mickey was born on March 6, 1925 in Lilly, PA. She moved with her parents and family from Pennsylvania to El Paso, TX and then to Wink, TX. She graduated from Wink High School in 1943. She was working as a telephone operator at the Rattlesnake Air Base in Pyote, TX where she met James Williams who was in the Army Air Force during WWII. They married on July 29th, 1945 and lived in Pratt, KS, before relocating to Inglewood, CA in 1947. While in California, they had two children, Patricia and James.

On a vacation in 1954, Mickey and Jim visited New Mexico and discovered a nice apple farm for sale in Bent, NM. They purchased the farm and moved their family from California. They had two additional children Linda and Danny. Mickey managed the farm and sold apples while raising four children. Mickey and Jim retired to Alamogordo in 1996.

Mickey is survived by two brothers: Thomas Hodgett of Wink TX, George Hodgett (Betty) of Houston, TX; four children: Patricia Pendergraft (Carl) of Las Cruces, NM; James Williams (Lori) of Amarillo, TX; Linda Hardisty (Don) of Albuquerque, NM; and Dan Williams of Alamogordo, NM. She is also survived by seven grand children: Leah Carbajal (Gabriel), Elana Rambow (Dean), Megan Fokken (Micky), Gayle Williams (Ryan), Philip Scroggins, Michael Hardisty (Lisa), and Robert Hardisty (Joelle). There are six great-grandchildren: Reyes Carbajal, Maia Carbajal, Landon Williams, Cormac Mitchell, Joshua Fokken, and Eli Rambow.

She was preceded in death by her husband James ‘Apply Willy' Williams, her parents Charles and Edythe Hodgett, her brother, Johnny Hodgett, and her sister Mary Grace Alldredge.

Please designate either the Cincinnati Shriners Hospital or Northern California Shriners Hospital on your donation.

The family will hold a private memorial at a later date.

The Williams family has entrusted their loved one to the care of PCS to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
